Chair, Lisa Blair is Owner, Manager, Vice President, and Treasurer of Blair Agency Insurance, a Farm Family insurance company in South Carver. Lisa and her husband, Dick, have lived in Carver for 24 years, rearing their two children here. Lisa and her company specialize in serving farmers and their farming operations and have for 27 years. Lisa graduated from California State University with a major in psychology and a minor in business. Her business acumen and financial, organizational, and social skills will serve YPAC and Carver’s children well. Lisa is a founding member of YPAC.
Vice Chair/Camp Director, Christina Skinner has a background in Biotechnology where she was a Protein Chemist for 17 years. She graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cell Biology, and her family continues to be UConn Husky Basketball Fans. Her love of working with kids can be traced back to high school when she startiedworking at Holiday Hill Day Camp where she worked for six years as a camp counselor and unit leader, swimming instructor, and life guard. Currently, Christina is working at the Wareham YMCA where she started in 2008. Her favorite event at the YMCA is helping to create the annual Halloween Haunted Forest and taking on a dramatic role for it. Christina has been a resident in Carver for 23 years and is currently very active in the Carver Cares coalition, created to help stop drug misuse. She is also involved in the middle high school PTO and supports the Carver Schools’ Music Boosters
Treasurer, Joe Miksch is a retired Radiologic Technologist. He graduated from the Goddard Memorial Hospital School of Radiologic Technology and worked in Diagnostic Imaging for 30 years in the following modalities: Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, C.T. Scan, Interventional Radiology, and Clinical Instructor / Operations Coordinator. He also served for 10 years on the board of the Bourne Youth Swish League (basketball) as general member, vice president, and president, and coached Bourne baseball, Pop Warner football, and soccer in Bourne / Wareham. Currently, Joe is a bee-keeper and small-farm eggs and vegetables farmer. He is also Chair of the Town’s Agricultural Commission. Joe is also enrolled at Bridgewater State University where he is pursuing his teaching degree in biology. Joe is a founding member of YPAC.
Member, Rick Phillips comes to us with 16 years of architectural and construction experience. Currently, he is a project manager at Upland Architects in Norton, MA. Prior to that, Rick was a production specialist and project coordinator at Talbot’s for 14 years. He received his Bachelors degree in Architecture from the Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston. Rick is also a member of the town’s Historic District Commission.
Member, Dennis Rizzuto, Jr. has been a Carver police officer for the past 14 years. Prior to that, Dennis served as a police officer in the towns of Plympton and Kingston for five and seven years respectively. Dennis has attended both the Plymouth Police Academy and the Foxboro Police Academy and is currently working towards his degree in Criminal Justice from Western New England College.
Member, Roger Shores comes to us after retiring from 25 years of teaching high school chemistry and physics, five of those years at the Carver Middle / High School. As a teacher, Roger developed a curriculum for chemistry for three different school districts and has also taken advanced courses in education, environmental studies, life support, and technology. He holds a U. S. patent in a chemical and physical process design. Roger coached youth sports for ten years and has served our town as a member of our Call Fire Department, the Plymouth-Carver Regional School Committee, the Carver Old Home Day Association, the Carver Conservation Commission, and as Our Lady of Lourdes Church’s Religious Education Curriculum Coordinator. Roger currently serves on the Town Buildings Study Committee. Roger is a family man who truly believes in family values. He is a founding member of YPAC.
Member, Dick Ward is a member of the Carver Board of Selectman and a founding member of the Carver Agricultural Commission, the Carver Green Committee, the Carver Farmers’ Market, and the Massachusetts Association of Agricultural Commissions. Dick graduated from UMass, Amherst, with a Bachelor of Science and was a high school Physical Education/Health Education teacher in the Carver School Systems for 31 years. Dick also coached high school track & field, soccer, and wrestling in the Carver School Systems for 31 years. He founded Carver Youth Soccer and Carver Youth Basketball and coached both for the Town for 10 years. Dick was a Youth Fellowship Advisor/Sunday School Teacher, a Founding Member of the CHS Athletic Boosters Club, and has served his town as Town Moderator, Fire Department member, Special Police Officer, and Recreation Committee member. Dick is a founding member of YPAC.
